The recent cold fronts that have swept across New Smyrna Beach have really brought the water temps down. Both the air temps and water temperatures are now starting to rise bringing our game fish back to a happier mood. The trout and snook disappeared for a few days due to water temperatures moving into deeper water but have now started to show back up. The redfish and black drum can still be found holding on the flats in the pot holes and on the mud flats. Small baits have been the trick to get the bites. Shrimp , cut bait or small artificials worked slowly have done well. It looks like we have some warmer days ahead so hopefully it warms the water a tad bit more.
