With the cold fronts lining up, the water temperatures are falling down to the magic numbers which send the pompano on the move to the south. This week the water clarity has improved and the weeds have cleared.

The hot bite in the area this week has been big whiting, bluefish, Spanish mackerel and pompano along the beach. Meanwhile, the river and inlet is still providing the chance at a monster bull redfish, nice flounder, and sheepshead. The great part is most of the same baits and rigs will work for everything right now. Fresh dead shrimp, sandfleas, and crabs on either a pompano rig, or Carolina rig and enough weight to hold bottom.
