What a difference a week makes with the surf! This week the surf laid down, the current has been calm and the large mats of grass have been pushed out. However, the bite has been a tough one. The whiting and croakers have been hitting early morning on fresh dead shrimp and sandfleas. As the day moves on, the catfish intensity really picks up. With the clear water, look for schools of baitfish moving along with the tarpon and sharks working the pods. We have been getting into lots of blacktips over the weekend and even seen a couple big bull sharks hit the beach.

Byran is a professional surf fishing and land based shark fishing guide based out New Smyrna Beach, FL. Call (386) 216-8025 to book a trip, or visit Southern Bred Fishing Charters on the web.
