Strong Tarpon Bite

The tarpon bite in the river continues to be strong. Fish are feeding better on the incoming tide. Nice mangrove snapper are being caught around the inlet and docks throughout the ICW. Bait is starting to show up along the beach and there are still a few shrimp boats around, too.

Tarpon Fishing on Fire

Tarpon fishing this past week has been on fire 🔥 and should continue to be very good over the next couple of weeks. The flounder bite on nearshore reefs is still good but slowing down and the bull reds are feeding in the inlet and ICW.

Tarpon Remain Thick

Tarpon remain thick in the Mosquito Lagoon and along the beach of New Smyrna and Ponce Inlet. The flounder bite has been good on the nearshore reefs and the trout bite is starting to get better. Topwater action early morning has been very good for Jack crevalle, snook and trout.

Shrimp Boats Thick Off the Beach

The shrimp boats have been thick off the beach with lots of tarpon, sharks, bonita and a few cobia within the bycatch. In the river, the trout bite is starting to get better the further we get past the new moon and the tarpon bite continues to be very good.

Strong Bite Pushing Towards Full Moon

Fishing has really turned on this week with great catches of large seatrout, redfish and tarpon. Look for the bite to continue to be strong as the moon phase pushes towards full. Best baits have been topwater, soft plastics or live bait such as pigfish or croakers.
