We are back in some kind of crazy weather pattern this past week. We have had a lot of wind and rain over the past few days bringing the water levels extremely high in Mosquito Lagoon at the moment. With strong northeast winds it has also made for strong push of water in the New Smyrna Beach area as well. The fish are definitely spread out quite a bit with the influx of water but when you find them they are eating well. Live bait and cut bait pitches along shorelines have been working well for redfish, snook and trout. We have also had a large amount of jacks and bluefish located throughout the New Smyrna Beach waters and are always fun to catch on artificial’s like plugs and spoons. Hopefully the winds will subside in the next couple days and the water will start to get back to normal.
