The weather has not been the only thing hot in New Smyrna Beach. With several double digit days on the Mosquito Lagoon this past week, I would say the fishing is still pretty good! The trout have been chewing well early in the shallows and moving to deeper water as the day moves on. The redfish have been spread out across the flats and there has also bern some breeders working their way out to the inlets, as well. We still have a large number of jacks, lady fish and tarpon throughout the ICW, too. All of these species have been very receptive to live bait along with some variety of artificials, when presented correctly.
