This is Steve Hesch, he caught his first Tarpon the other day. Way to go, Steve!

Seems like almost everyone is excited, and preparing to fish the Federal red snapper season. The season is July 10th – 12th and the 17th.
The bag limit is one fish per person any size. Effective July 1st, all bottom fisher persons of fishing license age are required to get a reef fishing permit, which is free from anywhere you get your Florida fishing license from.

Also, after July 15th, a descending device is required on all vessels that are bottom fishing in the Atlantic. Please release any unwanted fish with the least amount harm or trauma as possible. The more that survive, the more we have for the future, the more likely we are to get this closure behind us.
